Rotary Club of Nassau distributes 1,500 reusable face masks

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Rotary Club of Nassau distributed over 1,500 reusable masks to Bain and Grants Town residents on Saturday.

The masks were donated by Rotary District 6950 and the Seminole Lake Rotary Club in Florida.

Rotarian Lizzette McKinney speaks with a Hospital Lane resident at her home during a mask distribution exercise.

“Our Club gave free face masks to the community in an effort to promote public safety during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said Stephen Dean, president of Rotary Club of Nassau.

“We all have a role to play in the fight against COVID-19, so we encourage people to take their health seriously and wear masks as advised to stop the propagation of this dreadful disease in our communities,” Dean continued

“The Rotary Club of Nassau is committed to helping the community through its activities and community outreach projects; subsequent distributions are planned.”

In addition to the masks, Rotarians distributed children’s and adult books to members of the community to assist them in enhancing their reading skills.

Rotary International commemorates Basic Education and Literacy Month each September.
