NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The University of The Bahamas (UB) men’s basketball team went winless over the weekend on a three-game Florida trip.
In its final game, UB lost a scrimmage to Broward College on Sunday.
It dropped two games to St. Thomas University and Florida Memorial University on Friday and Saturday respectively.
Despite coming back home without a win, UB coach Bacchus Rolle said he likes the effort the team showed over the course of the trip.
“We did see some improvement in our big men. They showed some signs that will come around in the second half of the year for us,” Rolle said. “Our backup guards also showed us some good things. All in all, we lost three games, but we took a lot from these losses.
“Our defense is also coming along good. Our guards showed that they could defend players at the next level, and that’s really important in regards to developing our program.”
UB returns to New Providence Basketball Association (NPBA) action on Wednesday when it goes against the Caro Contractors Pirates at the A.F. Adderley Gymnasium.
Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m.
