As the debate on the legalisation of marijuana continues, the Rastafarian community on Wednesday agitated for the plant to be recognised as part of its religious rituals.
Community leaders told Eyewitness News that they are hopeful that they can be involved in the marijuana discussions with the government, while also getting Rastafarianism recognised as an official religion in The Bahamas.
The community also hopes that if marijuana is legalized, it will lead to the criminal records of many of their members being expunged.
