Public disclosure committee meeting set for today

NASSAU, BAHAMAS –  While the Public Disclosure Committee was expected to meet last Thursday to determine if all parliamentarians had met the March 1 disclosure deadline, that meeting was posted.  Another meeting is therefore scheduled for today.

Chairman of the Committee, Myles Laroda told Eyewitness News on Wednesday that last week’s meeting was delayed as committee members had other commitments, but as of yesterday, Laroda still could not state conclusively if all parliamentarians met that deadline.

Failure to disclose could result in imprisonment and a fine of $10,000.

Prime minister Dr. Hubert Minnis has promised to take action against all parliamentarians who fail to declare.
