Prominent accountant Philip Galanis has died

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Eyewitness News has confirmed that prominent accountant Philip Galanis has died.

Mr. Galanis, a former Member of Parliament is the former Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, Nassau, Bahamas and now serves as the Managing Partner of HLB Bahamas. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), as well as a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He served as President of The Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants from 1988 to 1992 and as President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean from 1995 to 1997.

Philip founded HLB Bahamas in 1998. He has over 43 years of experience auditing clients in the following industries: banking & financial services, professional services, aviation, retail, energy & natural resources, insurance, manufacturing, hospitality & tourism. He has also audited non-profits and the public sector.
