Dianne Bingham steps down but remains on the board
NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Sharon Colebrooke, a Bahamian woman whose dedication and pursuit of excellence in private banking and wealth management earned her the prestigious title of Bahamas Financial Service Board’s Professional of the Year, has now been chosen to head Leno Trust Ltd.
News of the appointment came from Leno Trust Director Sean K Longley.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sharon Colebrook — a respected trust practitioner with certification in anti-money laundering and an experienced professional in the arena of private wealth management, compliance and risk management — to head our expanding Leno Trust Ltd,” Longley said.
“Mrs Colebrook’s appointment follows the retirement of Mrs Dianne Bingham, a leader in trust and private wealth management and a woman admired for her ethics and her work ethic.
“We know that Dianne Bingham leaves a very large footprint to follow and we feel confident that Mrs Colebrooke will meet the challenge enthusiastically.”
Bingham will serve on the board of Leno Trust Ltd.
The search for a replacement was lengthy, but Leno officials said it never left The Bahamas.
“We take great pride in being an all-Bahamian company with roots that extend outward but a policy of building Bahamian internally,” said Longley.
“In this case, we are saying farewell to a strong, dedicated and forward-thinking woman who was the first managing director of Leno Trust Ltd and saying hello to another who demonstrates many of the same traits of visionary thinking and strong ethical convictions.
“We are excited that Mrs Colebrook is capable of stepping into the position fully prepared with experience and clear direction.”
Colebrook, who holds a degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University, has served as vice president of three major international banks with a presence in The Bahamas, including roles as organizing trust and private wealth management services over a career that has spanned more than four decades. She is a past director of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
Colebrook’s appointment to head Leno Trust Ltd is effective immediately.
