The local media has lost another star from its illustrious constellation with the passing of veteran journalist and media personality Darold Miller, who was found dead at home on Sunday, October 6, 2024. He was 69 years old.
The Bahamas Press Club joins our fraternity and the country at large in sending the most sincere condolences to Darold’s family as we mourn the passing of our Founding President.
Along with fellow journalists Steve McKinney and Anthony “Ace” Newbold, Darold served as president and helped to create the first such organization for local journalists in 1996.
In a career that spanned more than four decades and included stints at The Nassau Guardian, JCN and ZNS, Darold Miller distinguished himself as a topnotch journalist committed to excellence.
Whether he was reporting a story, calling election results or guiding Bahamians through a hurricane, this one of a kind journalist has left a lasting imprint on Bahamian journalism.
May he rest in peace!
