Police seize illegal drugs

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in the capital recovered a quantity of marijuana in two separate incidents on Friday, April 26, 2019.

In the first incident, shortly after 12:00p.m. on Friday, Central Detective Unit Officers, acting on information, conducted a search of an abandoned building on Horse Shoe Drive and discovered a large quantity of marijuana weighing 53lbs with a street value of $53,000.

No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing.

In the second incident, shortly after 6:00p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a residence on Sequoia Street in Pinewood Gardens and discovered five suspected marijuana plants.

Four adult males were taken into custody.
