NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A quantity of dangers drugs was recovered from the streets of New Providence on Wednesday in two separate incidents.
In the first incident, shortly after 2:00 p.m., Mobile Division Officers were on patrol on Raymond Road, when they noticed a group of males through a dirt road. The men, upon seeing the officer, ran from the area making good their escape.
The officers conducted a search of the area where the men were standing, and recovered a red bag, which contained a quantity of suspected marijuana.
In the second incident, shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers along with K-9 Officers, conducted a search of a bushy area off Andros Crescent, Yamacraw Beach Estate, and recovered three crocus sacks with suspected marijuana. The drugs weighed 81 pounds and had an estimated street value of $81,000.
No arrest was made in this incident, and investigations are ongoing.
