NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Two men are in hospital and another man arrested after separate shooting incidents on Monday.
In the first shooting, two men were standing at the junction of Ethel Street and Ethel Close in Montell Heights shortly before 5pm. The occupants of a pink Nissan March opened fire on the men, hitting one of them, according to police.
The injured man was said to be in stable condition. Police arrested a 20-year-old man, and recovered a pink Nissan March, a short time later.
The second shooting occurred less than an hour later in Elizabeth Estates, police said. A group of men were standing in a yard on Swaziland Crest, when two men got into an argument. According to police, the fight escalated, “resulting in one man producing a firearm and shooting the other multiple times to the body.” The injured man was transported to hospital via ambulance, and is listed in serious condition.
Police are also investigating an armed robbery early Tuesday morning. According to reports, a man was robbed by armed men as he arrived at his home on Fox Hill Road shortly after 2am. The men robbed him of cash, jewelry and other items before escaping in his Honda Mibilo. Police said the car was recovered in an area near the home a short time later.
