NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The conduct of two officers who were depicted in a viral video “aggressively” handling a suspect is under review by the Complaints & Corruption Branch of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

In the viral video, a man is seen lying down on the ground when one officer picks him up and slams him back down, and another officer then appears to stomp on him.
According to police press liaison Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings, police were notified that a 2001 cream-colored Honda CRV was stolen from a residence on Moss Road around 10.25 on Tuesday, January 24.
“Officers while on routine patrol spotted the vehicle, which was occupied by two males, in the area of Wilson Track off Wulff Road and attempted to stop the driver; however, he sped off at a high rate of speed, which resulted in police pursuing the vehicle,” Skippings said.

Skippings said: “Police were able to arrest the 40-year-old male of Toote Shop Corner, who is known to police for Murder, Armed Robbery, Stealing, Drug Possession, and Possession of a Firearm.
She added the second man escaped, and police investigations continue.
Excellent work.
