NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police Constable 4070 Patrick Anthony Taylor Jr., 27, of Godet Avenue, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney on Tuesday, charged with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Prosecutors alleged that Taylor, between February 1 and March 22, 2019, engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female.
The defendant was not required to enter a plea and was denied bail. Taylor was discharged of his duties and was remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until July 12thfor a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
Before departing, Taylor’s attorney, Ian Cargill, asked the judge to advise the commissioner of the department of corrections of his client’s prior occupation so that he is not placed in the general population of the prison.
Taylor’s arrest comes on the heels of a mother telling Eyewitness News Online last week that her daughter ran away from home because she did not give consent to her daughter having an alleged unlawful relationship with a police officer.
