Police issues public warning on cyber crime

Police on Wednesday again warned the Bahamian public to take the necessary precautions to guard against cybercrime, in the wake of a recent data breach at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), that saw the theft of thousands of dollars from the accounts of dozens of customers.

Some customers impacted by this latest scam, told Eyewitness News, that their accounts had been hacked and, in some cases, cleaned out, after they had used the ATM.

Police also note that while online bank crimes are increasing, so are crimes associated with the internet.
