NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police on the Island of New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the men responsible for several armed robberies that occurred on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
In the first incident, according to police reports, shortly after 8:00p.m., a man was in the parking lot of a food store in the western part of New Providence when he was approached by three men, one armed with a sharp instrument, who robbed him of cash. He and passersby detained one of the men while the other two got into a red vehicle and sped away.
A 21-year-old resident of Elizabeth Estates is in police custody and is assisting with this investigation.
In a second incident, according to police reports, shortly after 10:00p.m. on Tuesday, a woman was standing outside a residence on Pine Yard Road when she was approached by an armed man who robbed her of her handbag before running away.
In the third incident, according to police reports, shortly after 11:00p.m. on Tuesday, a woman was sitting in her vehicle in the area of Yamacraw beach when she was approached by three armed men who robbed her of her 2008 silver Honda Fit, licensed # AR74848 before speeding away.
Investigations are ongoing.
