NEAR-DROWNING INCIDENT
An investigation is underway into the near-drowning of a male toddler at a residence off Fox Hill Road on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
According to initial reports, shortly before 1:00 p.m., police were notified that the male child had fallen into a pool at a private residence on Springfield Road and was unresponsive to CPR administered by a relative. Emergency Medical Services transported the child to the hospital. Currently, the child is stable, though his condition remains serious.
DROWNING INCIDENT IN ELEUTHERA
In a separate case, police in Eleuthera are investigating a drowning involving a 68-year-old Caucasian male.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024, police were alerted to an unresponsive male body found on the shores of Surfers Beach. Medical personnel who attended the scene confirmed that the individual had no vital signs.
At this time, police do not suspect foul play. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Investigations into this incident are ongoing.
