Police investigate apparent drowning on GB

A man is dead after an apparent drowning on the island of Grand Bahama.

Reports indicate that shortly after 1:00 p.m.on Sunday, September 30, police were called to Silver Palm Street, where it was reported that a group of persons were at that location when a man jumped into the canal.

After some time when the man did not resurface, another man went into the water and retrieved him.

CPR was administered, however, the man never regained consciousness.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

Investigations are ongoing.
