Police investigate apparent drowning

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police are investigating an apparent drowning that occurred on Sunday, July 7, 2019, which has left an adult male dead.

According to police reports, shortly after 3:00p.m., a group of persons were swimming at Jaws Beach in the western district of New Providence, when they noticed a male who appeared unresponsive, floating in the water. The male was pulled from the water and CPR was rendered until paramedics arrived.

The male was pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing.
