NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in the nation’s second city are investigating a shooting that occurred on New Year’s Day in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
Reports are that on Tuesday, January 1, shortly before 10:00 p.m., police responded to gunshots being heard in the Pinedale, Eight Mile Rock park area.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers met a male with gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Further reports are that two males were involved in an altercation when one of the males shot the other to the upper body with a firearm before fleeing the scene.
Emergency medical personnel attended to the victim at the scene and he was later transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he is said to be listed in serious but stable condition.
Police later arrested a 20-year-old male of Seagrape, Eight Mile Rock in connection with this matter.
