Despite backlash about police not reporting the first incident of two sexual assault cases involving two female children from the St. Barnabas area fast enough, Minister of National Security Marvin Dames said, he backs the police in doing their job in the way they have to.
“Sometimes we have to appreciate the work they have to do and the timing in which they do what they do,” said Dames.
“I don’t think the police dropped the ball, you have to speak to the commissioner of police.
“As you can see it was the police who got the information out.”
Dames told members of the media during a passing out for a new recruitment of marines Friday morning, that he doesn’t want to get caught up in the political antics of whether he thinks the reports were given late or not.
Instead, the national security minister boasted about the force and the modernization of its tactics through social media channels, to give faster reports to the public.
