NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Two men were arrested in separate incidents after they were found in possession of dangerous drugs on Saturday.
In the first incident, officers attached to Operation Cease Fire arrested a 54-year-old man after executing a search warrant on his residence at Market Street shortly before 1pm.
Police reportedly discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and cocaine in the home.
The suspected marijuana weighed over 12 ounces with an estimated street value of $120.00 dollars, while the suspected cocaine weighed 25 grams and had an estimated street value of $80.00 dollars.
In the second incident, the Bahamas Customs Department notified officers attached to the Airport Division of a man visiting from Florida, U.S.A who was found in possession of a large number of suspected marijuana vapes containing THC Oil.
The man was taken into police custody.
According to police, the vapes have an estimated worth between $12,000.00 to $15,000.00 dollars.
Meanwhile, in other criminal matters, officers attached to Internal Security Division recovered a firearm containing ammunition along with a number of dangerous drugs shortly after 4pm on Saturday.
According to reports, officers discovered the weapon and quantity of suspected marijuana after searching an abandoned structure in the area of Williams Lane off Kemp Road.
Police said no arrests were made in connection to this incident.
The Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force along with the Drug Enforcement Unit will continue investigations into this incident.
