PMH announces appointment of Physician Managers

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) yesterday announced the appointment of Physician Managers serving from 2022 to 2025.

The newly appointed leaders’ responsibilities include the organization of their relevant Clinical Services to provide patient-centered, quality care, according to a press release.

Dr Dominique Turnquest-Brooks

Dr. Dominique Turnquest-Brooks has been appointed as the Deputy Medical Chief of Staff. As a veteran Anaesthesiologist, Turnquest is a Consultant at PMH. In addition to her wealth of experience, she also brings a strong background in both teaching and medical research to her new role. She completed a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and Leadership in 2021.

Other newly appointed Physician Managers include Dr. Valentine Grimes, Chief of Surgery; Dr. Dashawn Ferguson-Saunders, Chief of Paediatrics; Dr. Melonie Thomas, Director of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU); Dr. Ayana Mendes, Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU); Dr. Reginald Neymour, Director of the Operating Theatre and Dr Caryn Sands, Director of Pathology and Laboratory Services.

The following Physician Managers will serve a second term in their respective disciplines: Dr. Christa Wells, Chief of Emergency Medicine; Dr. Darbrielle Hunt-Burrows, Chief of Internal Medicine; Dr. Francis Williams, Chief of Family Medicine; Dr. Richard Braham, Chief of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Dr. Karen Rowe, Chief of Anaesthesia.

The press statement read: “The Public Hospitals Authority Board of Directors, Senior Executive Team, Executive Management Committees, and staff join the leadership and staff of the Princess Margaret Hospital in extending congratulations to these eminently qualified Physician Leaders.

“We look forward to the many contributions you will continue to make toward strengthening the clinical service of our nation’s largest public hospital.”
