The Cabinet of The Bahamas took a few hours out of their schedule Tuesday to tour the multi-million-dollar Fusion Superplex on John F Kennedy Drive.

The special tour for the Minnis-led administration came ahead of the establishment’s soft opening slated for November 23.

The $50 million theatre experience, which boasts of 17 eateries, nine cinemas, two restaurants, a supervised kids zone and a two-level arcade, wowed Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis and his cabinet ministers.

“I was more than impressed,” said Dr. Minnis.

“What impressed me, even more, is that this was done by young Bahamians who would have run into many obstacles in the process but they remained determined and they persisted in spite of running into various roadblocks.

“Their hope is to open Friday and government will do everything within its power to ensure that they open. I have every intent to be here for that opening once I am on the island.”

Cabinet experienced the IMAX theatre, IMAX laser, 4DX and XS3 options will provide patrons with unmatched experiences anywhere in the Caribbean, according to Foulkes.

Fusion CEO Carlos Foulkes led the extensive tour which took a little over one hour to complete.

“Most of the services will be ready for our soft opening. There will still be some landscaping done on the outdoors and our venues which will be available to rent to host parties will not be ready for another month, but all of our other services which include all of our theatres and dining offerings will be available once we host our soft launch,” Foulkes said.

Cabinet ministers Dr. Duane Sands, Minister of Health and Dionisio D’Aguilar, Minister of Tourism and Aviation seemed overjoyed to share feedback on their experience.

“The theatre is spectacular and certainly I congratulate the owners and all the partners in this venture because it certainly provides something to do for an outing,” Dr. Sands said.

D’aguilar added, “This is awesome and I have been completely blown away by what I have seen here today. To come here and see all these facilities, great panoramic views, these wonderful food and beverage outlets, the different types of theatres; it’s incredible,”

The 100 square foot mega development employs over 400 Bahamians.

Management at Fusion Superplex revealed that the theatre will be fully open for business by December 2018.
