Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis confirmed to reporters Thursday morning that the government will – at the right time – make a formal statement with regards to the entire process on the purchase of the Grand Lucaya hotel in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Dr. Minnis noted the importance for Bahamians, especially Grand Bahamians, to know why the government made the decision.

He said it is also important for the country to receive an update on the current state of the property, a rundown on the plans on how government intends to rebuild the resort, how it will be operated and details surrounding its subsequent sale.
