NASSAU, BAHAMAS- A pair of Bahamians this week committed to play collegiate basketball at Midland College in Texas in the fall.
Joshua Dames and Bradley Lightbourne, who both played this past season for BC Christian Prep in Canada, signed their letters of intent to play at the junior college.
Dames said: “It’s an honor and a blessing. I just want to give thanks to God who is the head of my life. None of this would be possible without Him. [The] excitement for college is huge. What led to my decision was me sitting down with my family and trying to figure out what is the best decision that I can make for me. Being able to take that next jump and we all came to the agreement that Midland was the best fit.”
Lightbourne added: “At BC Prep, there was a lot of up and downs but I thank God for my teammates and coaches for pushing me everyday. The program there has been a good program. As you can see, they developed my game a lot.”
Dames averaged Dames led the Panthers on the season with 18 points per game and three steals a contest, while Lightbourne averaged 13 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per contest.
