Pedestrian killed on TWD Highway

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A pedestrian was struck and killed on Friday night, shortly after 8:00 p.m.,  while attempting to cross the Tonique Williams-Darling Highway.

Police informed reporters at the scene that the victim was believed to be in his early 40s, however, as of yesterday, no official identification of the man was given.

Meanwhile, Officer Mario Hinds, second officer in charge of the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Traffic Department, warned all motorists to be very alert and cognizant of their surroundings.

“Obviously we don’t want motorists to travel with speed and we want pedestrians to practice due caution and care when crossing the street,” Hinds said.
