NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Government of the Bahamas has now acquired ten new ambulances for the islands of The Bahamas through a loan agreement with the InterAmerican Development Bank.
Prime Minister Philip Davis said during a press briefing on the new vehicles on Tuesday that the move represents another step in his government’s agenda to strengthen the healthcare system.
According to Dr. Darville, the ambulances were acquired from Spain. He said that the government is expected to receive 12 in total, but only 10 have arrived in the country thus far.
