National Time Capsule sealed, to be reopened in 25 years

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Independence Secretariat has one again embarked on an aggressive mission to preserve culture in a National Time Capsule which is being packed and sealed ahead of the 51st anniversary of Independence and will be reopened on the country’s Diamond Jubilee Independence celebrations in 25 years.

Thirty-three time capsules have been packed and sealed throughout The Bahamas; each capsule contains various items, from the Family Islands and the capital, which hold significant importance to the country.

Independence Committee Chair her Excellency Leslia Miller-Brice said that the time capsules are important because they will serve as reflection pieces for historical purposes in the future once reopened.
