Murder victim identified, armed robbery at souse house

The man shot last Sunday on Homestead Street has now been identified as 30-year-old Shanindore Neely.

According to reports, shortly after 3:00 p.m., a man was standing on Homestead Street when a Ford vehicle pulled up next to him, opened fire, and sped off.

Police said the victim was transported to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) where he succumbed to his injuries.

Neely, according to reports, was a resident of Charles Saunders Highway.

In other crime news, an armed robbery at the Souse House on Carmichael Road is today under active police investigation.

According to police, shortly before 11:00 a.m., a man armed with a firearm entered the establishment and demanded and received cash before fleeing the scene.
