NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The hunt is on for two men who, according to Chief Superintendent of Police Chrislyn Skippings, are responsible for the shooting death of a 51-year-old man who was accosted and killed by gunmen on Hanna Road in Eastern New Providence on Tuesday night.
Authorities said the incident unfolded shortly after 8:00 PM; the victim was in his vehicle, a burgundy Nissan Cube when he was approached by two gunmen who exited from a nearby parked dark-coloured Japanese vehicle and opened fire on him as he attempted to leave a residence.
Skippings reported that the victim was not being electronically monitored but noted that “we have seen him a couple times in our custody for drug possession and for traffic matters.”
The victim’s killing brought the country’s murder count to 65 just seven months into the year.
