Minister Dames addresses reception aboard USS Stout

NASSAU, BAHAMAS  — Minister of National Security Marvin Dames addressed a reception aboard the USS Stout (DDG 55), at Prince George Wharf on June 14, 2019.

U.S. Embassy Charge d’Affaires, Stephanie Bowers, and U.S. Fleet Forces Command commander, Admiral Christopher Gradyand Mrs. Grady, co-hosted the event.

Also in attendance were Acting Permanent Secretary Eugene Poitier and Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Commodore Tellis Bethel.

According to the US Embassy, Admiral Grady was in The Bahamas for a visit to engage in bilateral meetings to reinforce the importance of the strategic partnership between the U.S. and The Bahamas, and the two countries’ longstanding commitment toward mutual security, promoting trade and cultural exchange.

Admiral Grady also visited the RBDF headquarters at Her Majesty’s Bahamian Ship Coral Harbour Base and the Navy’s Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island.
