Diamond League Champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo on Monday was listed as one of 10 women in contention for the International Association of Athletic Federation’s (IAAF) Female Athlete of the Year award.

The list was selected by a panel of international athletics executives, made up of representatives from all six continental areas of the IAAF. In order for local fans to vote for Miller-Uibo, they have to go on the IAAF’s social media pages and like and share her photo. The winner of the award will be announced during the IAAF Athletics Awards in Monaco on December 4.

Other athletes vying for the award include Caterine Ibarguen, Dina Asher-Smith, Nafissatou Thiam, Anita Wlodarczyk, Beatrice Chepkoech, Caster Semanya, Mariya Lasitskene, Sandra Perkovic and Siffan Hassan.

Miller-Uibo went undefeated on the track in 2018. She also produced several world-leading and record times.

“I’m so thankful that I was able to get through the season injury free. I’m also pleased that I was able to go undefeated on the season, which really means a lot of me,” she said.

“Next year I really want to drop a little more time in the 400. Everyone will be looking to be ready for 2019.”
