Shaunae Miller-Uibo closed out the 2018 track and field season undefeated, picking up another win in the women’s 200-meters (m) at the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) Continental Cup in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Miller-Uibo crossed the line in 22.16 seconds, just ahead of Dafne Schippers, from the Netherlands, who finished in 22.28 seconds. Marie Josee-Ta Lou, from the Ivory Coast, was third overall in 22.61 seconds.

“I’m so thankful that I was able to get through the season injury free. I’m also pleased that I was able to go undefeated on the season, which really means a lot of me,” Miller-Uibo said after the race.

“I think I can speak on behalf of the girls that this was the final race of the season. So, there was really no pressure going out there.”

Now that the season is over, Miller-Uibo said she’ll take a break for a bit before beginning her training for the 2019 season.

“Next year I really want to drop a little more time in the 400. Everyone will be looking to be ready for 2019 now that this short season is over.”

Miller-Uibo earned eight points for team Americas at the meet. The Americas went on to win the meet with 262 total points.
