Men arraiged on $390K drug charge

Four men were charged in connection with the country’s latest drug bust in which Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers uncovered close to $400,000 worth of illegal narcotics.

Harrison Smith, 54,  Leo Jones, 30,  Demetrius McPhee, 33 and Jeffery Miller, 45, were all charged with two major counts of possession – conspiracy and intent supply.

Prosecutors allege that on Sunday, September, 2, the four men were found in possession of 390 pounds of Indian hemp, which they allege is valued at $390,000.

The four men who appeared before Magistrate Subusola Swain, pleaded not guilty to all charges and were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections (BDOC) until their trial,  which is set for November 13.
