Man killed in traffic accident, another in an industrial mishap

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A man in his early to mid-thirties was killed early Saturday morning when his car collided into a wall on Collins Avenue.

According to reports, shortly after 4 am the lone occupant of a white Buick Lacrosse was traveling south on Collins Avenue near Third Terrace when he collided into a large limestone wall on the western side of the road. The vehicle was extensively damaged.  Fire Services were summoned to the scene to extricate the victim from the vehicle and EMS personnel transported him to the hospital. While in hospital the victim succumbed to his injuries a short time later. 

Police on the island of Grand Bahama are investigating an industrial accident, which claimed the life of a 42-year-old man of Abaco on Saturday. 

Initial reports revealed that shortly after 10 am police received reports that a water tank fell on a male while conducting an inspection of the Water Plant on Sweetings Cay.  As a result, a medical doctor was summoned to the scene and confirmed that the victim had died. Investigation continues into this matter.
