An elderly man believed to be in his 60’s was shot and killed outside his home while playing a board game with a woman who was also shot, authorities said Thursday night.
The incident put the country’s murder count to 57 for the year.
Police investigators from the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) said the occupants of a white vehicle pulled up to the residence on Taylor Street off Victoria Boulevard, and fired several shots in the direction of the two victims.
The elderly man was fatally shot while the woman is said to be suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
She was transported to hospital where she is listed in stable condition, police said.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Investigations are said to be ongoing.
