NASSAU, BAHAMAS-An individual, suspected to be in his early twenties, was discovered deceased due to gunshot wounds in the vicinity of Anatol Rodgers High School in the early hours of Friday morning.
According to Police Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson, who is in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, gunshots were heard in the vicinity of Faith Avenue South at approximately 4:30 am on Friday morning. Johnson provided this information to reporters at the location.
“Police received a distress call and arrived at the scene, where they discovered the lifeless body of a black male on the western side of the street, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head and upper extremities, according to Superintendent Johnson.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel, and there was no identification on his person. The police are seeking help from the community and anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to identify the victim. Superintendent Johnson stated that the victim appeared to be in his early twenties, but that is the only information they have so far.
This latest homicide follows the recent deaths of two men who were shot in Fox Hill on Monday night. One of the victims was on bail for multiple murders.
