Man dies in East Street stabbing

The country’s murder count rose to 81 following a weekend stabbing incident.

Authorities said a man got into a fight with two other men shortly after 9pm on Sunday.

The victim, police said, was at East Street near Bahama Avenue, when the men stabbed him about the body and fled the scene in a pink Nissan Marche.

The victim died at the scene, police said.

Earlier that day, another man was treated and discharged from hospital after he was shot outside a home on Market Street and Millers Close.

The man’s injuries are said to be not life-threatening.

According to reports, the man heard sounds of gunshots and realized that he had been shot shortly before 8am.

Police have also recovered a 9mm pistol after a search of an abandon building on Peter Street.

The weapon was recovered shortly after 3pm.
