NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A man died in hospital early this morning after he was stabbed in a fight with another man.
Police were called to a home on Raymond Road shortly after midnight this morning.
According to reports, a man was visiting the mother of his children when he got into an argument with another man at the residence.
The other man reportedly produced a knife but the first man was able to take it from him.
However, police said the knife-wielding man was stabbed during the altercation.
The victim was transported to the hospital via private vehicle where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the first man is in custody assisting police with investigations into the incident.
In other crime matters, quantities of suspected marijuana were recovered in two separate incidents on Thursday.
Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Bernard Road shortly after 11am.
On their arrival, they conducted a search of the residence in the presence of the occupant.
The officers recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana which was sealed in a bucket hidden at the rear of the residence, according to a statement.
A woman was arrested in connection with this incident. She is expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court.
In the second incident, officers from the Operations Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located Bamboo Court, off Step Street shortly after 6pm.
The officers conducted a search of the residence in the presence of the occupants, and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.
A man and woman were arrested in connection with this incident. The pair are expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court.
