Man charged with attempted murder

A 57-year-old man was arraigned in a Magistrate’s Court on Monday over allegations he attempted to murder a female known to him last Friday.

Prosecutors allege Wilfred Ambrister, who appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain, attempted to murder Prearline Ambrister on Friday, April 27.

According to police reports, shortly after 11:00 a.m. on the day in question, police received information of a domestic dispute off Marshall Road.

Officers said when they arrived on the scene, they discovered a female suffering from multiple stab wounds. The woman, police said, was taken to hospital where she is listed in serious condition.

Ambrister was not required to enter a plea to the charges and has been remanded to The Bahamas Department of Corrections (BDOC) until June 20.
