Male dies in traffic fatality

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in the capital are investigating yet another traffic accident that occurred in the capital on Tuesday, March 5, which left one man dead and a woman fighting for her life in hospital.

According to police reports, the accident happened shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said the man was riding a motorcycle with a female passenger travelling south on East Street when he failed to stop at a traffic light and collided into a black GMC Silverado truck.

Both the male and female were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The male, however, died a few hours later.

As of yesterday, the female’s condition was listed as serious.

Police said the male driver of the GMC truck involved in the incident was not injured.

Officers of the traffic division are still investigating the matter.

Yesterday’s incident marks the 11th traffic death in the country for 2019.
