President of The Bahamas Gaming Operators Association (BGOA) Gershan Major, in a statement to the media on Thursday, questioned the motives of Deputy Prime Minister Peter Turnquest’s recent interview with local media.
According to Major, the minister’s examples of jurisdictions listed in the interview are not comparable to The Bahamas and indicated that the deputy prime minister has been “misinformed regarding the technicalities of the gaming industries in The Bahamas”.
The BGOA has given The Bahamas Government until the end of Friday to agree to a sit down before they move ahead with legal action against government on the proposed tax increase to its sector.
