The Lyford Cay senior girls and boys teams emerged as their respective division champions as the 2019 High School Soccer National Championships wrapped up over the weekend.
In senior girls play, the Dragons jumped out to an early lead and maintained it throughout, sweeping the Tabernacle Falcons 3-0 to win the title.
The boys title wasn’t decided so easily. The Dragons scored a goal late to take a 5-4 lead over the C.R. Walker Knights. Although the Knights has several chances to score as time expired, the Dragons defense managed to hold on for the win.
