Long Island MP donates to local schools

LONG ISLAND, BAHAMAS — During a visit to schools in his constituency last Thursday and Friday, Long Island MP Adrian Gibson donated supplies aimed to assist students with learning in the new environment brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a statement posted to Gibson’s public social media pages, “During those stops, he presented the principals/administrators of the schools with 300 tablets (combined total). These tablets will heighten the educational experience and provide students with greater access to technology. The tablets will also assist with learning during this period of COVID-19.

“Gibson also donated 600 fully loaded backpacks to the schools. The backpacks featured a variety of items — school books, hand sanitizer, folders, pencil cases, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, sharpeners, crayons, school glue sticks, etc.

“Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the importance of maintaining good hygiene, the MP also donated a few cases of hand sanitizer to each school.”
