Letters to the Editor: How can cinema have classroom environment but schools can’t?

Dear Editor,

Fusion Superplex is now offering virtual school supervision. Please explain to us how this is approved.

A screenshot showing Fusion Superplex’s advertisement for its Virtual Supervision Program. The company has publicly said it supports the re-opening of schools for face-to-face learning and is offering this option in a “safe, clean environment” until the government decides to resume in-person learning at public schools.

To have a group of students sitting in a classroom with a teacher, but schools aren’t allowed to be open.

Families with money get their kids a better classroom environment while the hardworking parents suffering on with kids at home.

How is this possible?

How is this fair?

This is what the Ministry of Health has been telling us what we can’t do.

Please help us.

Laureen

Doesn’t make any sense to be Hybrid school while a cinema with no record of who attends is able to host everyday students. If you can explain me the rationale behind this I would appreciate it

Children still have to be supervised. A working parent has to send their kid somewhere. Not every child can be solely supervised. What’s the difference between your neighbor down the street “baby sitting” a few kids? Should the parents stay home and keep their own kids, who will provide for the family and pay their bills?
