Legendary Rock House Boutique Hotel reopens this weekend on Harbour Island

HARBOUR ISLAND, BAHAMAS — The Rock House Boutique Hotel will reopen on Harbour Island this weekend on November 7 under new Bahamian ownership and management and with nearly half-a-million dollars in renovations that began during the pandemic.

The oceanfront hotel, which shuttered in early 2020, will feature the same world-class amenities that have made it legendary, with refreshed modern additions to the acclaimed resort.

Assistant General Manager Teynarae Rolle said: “We spent our time during the pandemic expanding on what was already a perfect gem that represented the spirit of Harbour Island and the heart of The Bahamas.

“This weekend, when our guests step into our hotel, we want them to see all the comforts and quality they expect from us and be pleasantly surprised at the facelift that we underwent that enhances their experience at this beautiful boutique resort.”

Following the change in ownership and subsequent upgrades, the resort has already seen increased activity around winter bookings, signaling a promising season for the island’s tourism product.

The investment has secured approximately 40 staff positions for an all-Bahamian team and will mark the first time in its 70-plus years in business that the resort will be in the hands of the very best in Bahamian professionalism.

After many renovations, the 10-room resort will host a ribbon-cutting and unveiling of its new features on Saturday, ahead of the official winter season opening on November 7.

The resort offers a full complement of amenities, including a fine dining restaurant, with Head Chef Hermis Rolle; wellness practices and yoga events; spa services; a gift shop; and a beach, pool and cabanas

“We look forward to playing a part in the economic stimulation of the island as the nation rebounds from this pandemic,” said Rolle.

“On behalf of the entire staff, we welcome everyone to experience the one-of-a-kind Rock House Resort.”
