John Watling’s bullion 10-year-old rum wins gold at Monde Selection 62nd Quality Awards

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — John Watling’s Bullion 10-year-old rum has received the Gold Award at the 62nd Edition of the Monde Selection’s Quality Awards. This recognition highlights the quality of John Watling’s products and its reputation in the rum industry.

Established in Belgium in 1961, Monde Selection is known for its comprehensive evaluations of spirits and liqueurs. The awards are based on organoleptic and scientific criteria, making the Monde Selection Quality Award a significant accolade in the industry, with many spirits competing for the honor annually.

John Watling’s Bullion 10-year-old rum was launched to mark The Bahamas’ 50th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of John Watling’s Distillery, Ltd. The limited edition rum undergoes a 10-year double aging process, starting in White American Oak Bourbon Barrels and finishing in French Limousin Oak Cognac Casks. The product is presented in a crystal decanter and a bespoke box, with only 2,250 bottles available.

The award was presented at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria. A panel of judges, including oenologists, master sommeliers, and oenology professors, evaluated each product according to strict criteria.

This achievement reflects the efforts of the employees at John Watling’s Distillery, whose dedication to quality has been instrumental in this recognition.

John Watling’s Bullion is available in exclusive liquor stores, luxury hotels, high-end bars, and restaurants throughout The Bahamas.
