Illegal firearms and ammo recovered from abandoned building, bushy area

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in the capital recovered two illegal firearms in two separate incidents this week.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 9:00p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, acting on information, conducted a search of an abandoned building on Boyd Road and recovered a 9 millimeter pistol and eight rounds of ammunition.

In the second incident, according to police reports, shortly before 1:00a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, Central Detective Unit Officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a bushy area on Bias Street off Baillou Hill Road and recovered a 9 millimeter pistol and three rounds of ammunition.

No arrests were made in these incidents and investigations are ongoing.
