NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in the capital arrested several persons over the weekend for the alleged possession of suspected marijuana in two separate incidents.
In the first incident, shortly after 7:00p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers executed a search warrant on a home on East Avenue, Centerville and discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana weighing seven pounds with a street value of $7,000.
Two adult males were taken into custody.
In the second incident, on Saturday, April 6, 2019, police reported that shortly after 1:00p.m., Officers from the South Central Division executed a search warrant on a home off Tonique Williams-Darling Highway where they uncovered a quantity of suspected marijuana weighing five pounds with a street value of $5,000.
Six adult males were arrested and taken into custody.
Police said the men are expected to be formally charged before a magistrate’s court this week.
