Highly touted prospect Samuel Hunter over the weekend committed to play collegiate basketball at Ole Miss next fall.
The 6’9” forward joins guard Franco Miller Jr. as the second Bahamian player to commit to play at the university in the past year.
Yolett McPhee-McCuin is also entering her first season as head coach of the women’s basketball program.
Hunter impressed National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) teams this summer in the Bahamas Basketball Federation’s (BBF) Summer of Thunder exhibition series.
Against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) teams, Hunter averaged over 18 points and seven rebounds per game.
Hunter is about to start his senior year at British Columbia Christian Academy (BCCA) in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.
Hunter previously fielded Division I offers from the Santa Clara, San Francisco, Chicago State, Colorado State, Fresno State and Pacific.
He recently made his senior men’s national team debut in July at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
