NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Scores of Bahamians arrived at the Lynden Pindling International Airport this evening as The Bahamas mobilized efforts to evacuate nationals ahead of Hurricane Beryl’s approach to Jamaica.
Passengers of Bahamasair UP945 made their way through the Bahamas Immigration checkpoint shortly after 9:20 pm. The returning residents were greeted by Government ministers.
Bahamasair Chairmen Tanya Pratt told the media that evacuating Bahamian citizens out of Jamaica was tedious as it had to be done quickly while following all necessary protocols and travel measures.
Despite how quickly everything came together, Pratt commended the smooth boarding process at the Norman Manley Airport, noting that passengers were accommodated with food, water and other essentials.
